KUMD's Lisa Johnson Receives Award from Citizens in Action

At the 2016 Annual Citizens in Action Workshop, Lisa Johnson - KUMD Northland Morning host was recognized and honored for her years of work raising awareness on a range of community, state, and national issues through her interviews and reporting.

"We value the important role that Lisa Johnson has played for over 20 years at KUMD to help raise awareness about thousands of community issues and tell the important stories about the many organizations, like the League of Women Voters that help sponsor our Citizens In Action workshop. We value her questions and her supportive interview style that has allowed many members of our groups and community leaders to be on air, often for their first media interview. It is our privilege this year to honor Lisa Johnson for her dedication, commitment, and skills - this recognition is given to honor her years of community involvement and grassroots leadership. The intent of this workshop is to educate citizens about the process of government and how to effect positive change. Lisa Johnson has enthusiastically helped us for the last 18 years effectively promote this event, which has allowed us to train over 3,000 community members," stated Rosie Loeffler-Kemp- Citizens In Action Planning Committee Chair.
