7/9 Forever Home

Animal Allies Humane Educator Pat Castellano says things have changed a lot - and yet not at all - between the early days of the Band of Mercy in the 1800s and the current crop of summer campers at Animal Allies, shooting videos to help animals get adopted.

Our featured animals this week:

Annie is a three and a half year old Hound mix who came to Animal Allies as a transfer from another rescue. She is shy but sweet, preferring to take her time getting used to new situations before deciding whether or not everything is okay. Once you gain her trust she's very loving! Annie came to us with her best friend, Albee. They are like peas and carrots: they go together quite well! Do you have room in your heart and house for two wonderful dogs? Annie has been spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.

Albee is a one and a half year old Shepherd mix who came to Animal Allies as a transfer from another rescue. He has a uniquely gray saddle marking on his back and sweet eyes that will make you want to take him home with you. Albee is a shy boy who will need a patient owner that is willing to put the time into helping him come out of his shell. Albee came to Animal Allies with his best friend, a Hound mix named Annie. Albee and Annie are looking to find a home with enough space for both of them! Could it be with you? Albee has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

(Albee and Annie are a bonded pair. Ask about Animal Allies' Buddy Discount!)

Miss Doris is a beautiful and majestic 2 1/2 year old cat that came to us from a previous home. She is looking for her new home and would be a great addition. Her previous owner said she likes to fetch and play with knotted string! She is affectionate and loves to get scratches on her back and head and will show appreciation and interest with a flick of her tail! Doris has been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated.

Andy is male Husky mix about 10 yrs old. Andy was brought into the shelter as a stray. He is an adorable old gentleman. He  is kind and gentle and just wants a loving home where he can retire. He has been vet checked, neutered, and given his canine and rabies vaccinations.

Lisa Johnson started her broadcast career anchoring the television news at her high school and spinning country music at KWWK/KOLM Radio in Rochester, Minnesota. She was a reporter and news anchor at KTHI in Fargo, ND (not to mention the host of a children's program called "Lisa's Lane") and a radio reporter and anchor in Moorhead, Bismarck, Wahpeton and Fergus Falls.Since 1991, she has hosted Northland Morning on KUMD. One of the best parts of her job includes "paying it forward" by mentoring upcoming journalists and broadcasters on the student news team that helps produce Northland Morning. She also loves introducing the different people she meets in her job to one another, helping to forge new "community connections" and partnerships.Lisa has amassed a book collection weighing over two tons, and she enjoys reading, photography, volunteering with Animal Allies Humane Society and fantasizing about farmland. She goes to bed at 8pm, long before her daughter, two cats, or three dogs.
