
Moss Schumacher
Co-host of "Women's Music Show"Moss Schumacher is a passionate environmental educator based in Duluth, MN. As a Master of Environmental Education (MEEd) candidate at the University of Minnesota Duluth, Moss is dedicated to making nature exploration accessible to young learners. Through their work with the Voyageurs Conservancy, they have brought the beauty of Voyageurs National Park into classrooms across Duluth, inspiring students to connect with their local environment.
Moss’s academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in cognitive science from UMD. Their path has included neuropsychological research, international work exchanges, and conservation efforts, all of which have shaped their approach to environmental education. A pivotal experience at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center provided immersive training that strengthened their ability to engage students in outdoor learning.
Currently, Moss develops curriculum focused on Minnesota phenology, teaching students about seasonal changes in plants and animals. Their lessons combine interactive lectures with outdoor exploration, encouraging students to observe and reflect on nature in a structured way. Moss believes that fostering a connection to the natural world helps young people become stewards of their environment, benefiting both communities and ecosystems.
