Host of “Backyard Almanac”Larry Weber is a naturalist, educator, and author based in northern Minnesota, known for his deep expertise in phenology—the study of seasonal changes in nature. With over 40 years of experience teaching biology and environmental science, Weber has inspired countless students and nature enthusiasts through his engaging approach to outdoor education.
He is the longtime host of Backyard Almanac on The North 103.3 FM, where he shares weekly insights on seasonal shifts, wildlife activity, and ecological observations in the Northland. Weber has also authored several books, including Butterflies of the North Woods and Spiders of the North Woods, showcasing his passion for close-up nature photography and detailed field studies.
A dedicated observer of the natural world, Weber continues to teach and lead phenology workshops, helping Minnesotans connect with their environment through careful observation and appreciation of seasonal patterns.
