Katie Stone

Katie Stone is the host and producer of The Children's Hour radio show and podcast. Her goal is to create informative, entertaining, and engaging programming for listeners of all ages, while showcasing local kids and kid-friendly organizations. She works with a dedicated crew of young producers who help shape every episode, from writing and voicing scripts and reviews to choosing jokes, themes, music, and guests, and assisting with all aspects of the live broadcast.

Stone also brings the show into the community through regular live broadcasts from venues across New Mexico. She partners with teachers to create radio shows for classroom projects and collaborates with community organizations to bring young voices to public radio. She hopes every listener walks away with something new to think about.

Katie began her radio career at age fourteen at WDGC FM in Downers Grove, Illinois. She is the executive director of The Children's Hour, Inc., a New Mexico nonprofit dedicated to creating and distributing public radio for kids. The show is produced at the Sun Spot Solar Studio.
