Kate Tellers
Senior Director and Co-hostKate Tellers is a Senior Director at The Moth, a host of The Moth’s live storytelling series and the Peabody Award winning Moth Radio Hour, and the co author of the New York Times bestseller How to Tell a Story. Only a few stories into her first Moth event, which was fittingly themed Beginnings, she knew she had found her place.
Since then, she has developed stories with people she has admired since her Pittsburgh childhood as well as storytellers she has met along the way, and she has led events around the world. She has designed and led storytelling programs for organizations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Kellogg Foundation, Ashoka, Spotify, Nike, Google, and the United States State Department, using storytelling as a tool for empathetic communication.
Her story “But Also Bring Cheese” can be heard on The Moth Radio Hour and appears in All These Wonders: True Stories about Facing the Unknown. Her writing has also appeared in McSweeney’s and The New Yorker. Through it all, her love of storytelling remains constant because it gives her the rare chance to laugh and cry with strangers.
