
Dave Woodward
Host of Caribbean RootsDave Woodward is the Director of the Museum Studies Program and an Instructor in the History Program at the University of Minnesota Duluth. With over 25 years of experience in public history, historic preservation, museology, and archaeology, he has conducted research both domestically and internationally, including in Poland, Guatemala, and Mexico.
His academic expertise spans material culture studies, Native American and European contact history, and the legacies of slavery in the Atlantic world. In addition to his role in the History Department, he holds appointments in African and African American Studies and American Indian Studies.
Woodward teaches courses such as Minnesota History, Introduction to Museums, and Public History, providing students with a deep understanding of historical interpretation and museum practices. His work continues to shape the field of public history through research, education, and cultural preservation.
