We were excited to host this all-star lineup of string musicians in our studios on December 15, 2017. They were in town for what was billed as a "String Summit" at Duluth's newest venue, Sound.
Duluth native Walsh is an accomplished mandolin player who currently teaches at the Berklee College of Music. Fiddler Anger got his start with David Grisman and has gone on to co-found many projects the Turtle Island String Quartet and Republic of Strings , banjo player Barnes is known for his work with Austin, Texas band the Bad Livers, guitarist Gordy also worked with Grisman, and bassist Davies has worked with everyone from Tony Rice to Jack White.
Although the musicians have worked with each other in various projects and configurations, this was the first public performance from the five of them all together.
