KUMD Album Reviews: Timber Timbre Creep On Creepin' On

2011 finds Canadian folk trio Timber Timbre deliberately channeling David Lynch on the aptly titled Creep On Creepin' On - the follow up to their prodigious self-titled LP released in 2009. This LP features singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Taylor Kirk still crooning over Mika Posen and Simon Trottier's sparse percussion, minimalistic organ playing, and chilling violin dissonance. By Basement DJ: The Doctor

This time around, the band's sound feels even spookier, with the whole album exhibiting an unnerving bleakness, even when the major chords are in play. Still, like the rest of Timber Timbre's catalog, Creep On Creepin' On is eerily addictive and serves as a befitting soundtrack for when the fog rolls in.
