Pony has been described as “the dark side of Simon & Garfunkel” and “early Pink Floyd mixed with The Lord of the Rings soundtrack.” Pony formed in 2014 by Paul Sauey (guitar) and Clifton Nesseth (fiddle). The two studied music together at St. Olaf College and soon thereafter began focusing on vocal harmony work, intricate finger-picking and Scandinavian-inspired modalities (Both musicians hail from Norwegian immigrant families.) The music is both a study of the past and an exploration of future aesthetics. The performance is open to the public. A donation of $10 per person is encouraged and appreciated by the musicians and the Nordic Center.
