In October of 2024, an Icelandic sheep named Brad was moved away from his home and family in Carlton, Minnesota to a new farm in Two Harbors. On day one, Brad escaped and slowly began making his way home.
The true story captivated the Duluth-area community as Brad spottings were coveted and abundant. The true story (with a dash of creative embellishment) has now been put to the page by author and illustrator Beth Petrowske. "He actually came into my backyard," says Petrowske. "That's how I first became interested in Brad."
Brad's unique homing ability and his apparent determination to get home against all odds were what drew Petrowske to the story. Her take on Brad is one of a go-with-the-flow dreamer. The sheep casually meanders through area landmarks while doing plenty of daydreaming along the way.
Brad can be found at various locations and bookstores in the area as well as online through Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Additionally, Beth Petrowske will be signing books at The Bookstore at Fitger's on Saturday, October 11th from 12-2pm.
