The new Bent Paddle Taproom, prominently featuring local artists and artisans, is celebrating their grand opening on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. Bent Paddle Brewing Co. will be serving up their Duluth-made beer in the new expansive space located in the old Enger & Olson Furniture building at 1832 W. Michigan St., spitting distance from the brewery and old taproom.
The atmosphere breathes Lincoln Park Craft District, showcasing furniture and architectural elements from Duluth companies Loll Designs, Epicurian, Duluth Barrel Works and Hemlock Leathers plus paintings by Adam Swanson, Bob Pokorney Lucas Kackman and others. Each section of the taproom, from the cozy fireplace seating and barrel booths to the kid-friendly game area has a theme and design enhanced by the local art.
The Bent Paddle experience would not be complete without a paddle and a plan. There are a number of handcrafted paddles in the mix and a very large table that touts the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness with a near complete map (disclaimer says "Not for navigational purposes.")
There is also a series of events leading up to the grand opening including a farewell to the old taproom with live painting by Adam Swanson on Sunday April 8, 4-8 p.m.
