Art Attack 2015 kicks off this Friday in Northeast Minneapolis, a weekend extravaganza art crawl in the Northrup King Building, home to over 250 artists. Art Attack opens this Friday at 5 pm and at noon Saturday and Sunday. This year’s event boasts some very special guests including “Resilencias, de Otra Cuba!” a contemporary Cuban art show in the 3rd Floor Gallery and Indigenous Poetry Slam Champion” Vincent Moniz, Jr. (NuEta), presenting his poetry responses to Maggie Thompson’s work, an Ojibwe textile artists and recent RISD graduate.
Our guest on Radio Gallery this week is a graphic artist who has made a business out of delightful design and printing with old-fashioned typeset presses. Making everything from posters to coasters, Todd Thyberg of Angel Bomb Design and Letterpress is just one of the hundreds of artists opening their studios this weekend as a part of Art Attack 2015.
