Your Name. Your Station. Your Summer Lager.
We’ve teamed up with our friends at Earth Rider Brewery to create a lager that tastes exactly like a Northland summer. But there’s one thing missing: The Name.
We’re looking for a name that captures the spirit of independent public radio and the crisp, refreshing vibe of a classic German Helles. Whether it’s a radio pun or a nod to our local landscape, we want to hear your best ideas.
The Best Part: Every pint poured helps keep the music playing. $1 from every pour of the winning lager goes directly to keeping The North 103.3 independent and listener-supported.
The Grand Prize
The mastermind behind the winning name won't just get bragging rights. You’ll also receive:
- The Spotlight: An interview on Northland Morning to share the story behind your winning name.
- The Gear: A premium Growler and matching stainless-steel cups, custom-engraved with The North 103.3 logo.
- The Party: A VIP table at the Earth Rider Launch Party at the Cedar Lounge on May 29.
About the Beer: What is a Helles?
To name the beer, you have to know the beer. A Helles lager is a traditional Munich-style, pale golden brew.
- The Vibe: Clean, crisp, and incredibly smooth.
- The Taste: Expect a soft, bready sweetness with very low bitterness.
- The Look: Pale gold with a creamy white head, perfect for a Northland afternoon.
- The Difference: It’s less "hoppy" than a Pilsner, focusing instead on a refreshing, malt-forward finish.
Need Inspiration? Think radio puns! We love ideas like Freq-uently Refreshing, Static-Free Helles, or The High Fidelity.
