Sue Rauschenfels

Annie Dugan highlights a couple of events this week in the world of art.

On Tuesday, October 18th at 6:30pm at Duluth's First Presbyterian Church, author Tony Deirkins will present on his new book Duluth’s Grand Old Architecture 1870-1940. Deirkins will go in depth about some of the iconic buildings in Duluth - whether or not they’re still standing. A tour of the historically significant church will follow the presentation. “When we think of the visual language of our community, architecture is a really important piece,” says Dugan.

Up north in Big Fork, MN one can find the art center called “The Edge” where local artist Sue Rauschenfels has work exhibited. For the Love of Trees will be on display through October 29th. Of Rauschenfels and her abstract work, Dugan says, “She’s able to capture both the feeling and the atmospheric visual, optical truth of our lovely trees and forests."
