Even for gardeners, we're going to call it a snow day.

The fresh and heavy snow is a positive for all future gardens. If the snow melts slowly, the ground should appropriately saturate, thus creating a good foundation for perennials and new plants alike.

For those that can't keep their mind off of garden work, Tom Kasper suggests staying inside and tending to houseplants.

But it's a snow day - do what you will with it!

You can hear Tips for Hardy Gardeners every other Tuesday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
