It's that time of year... when a lot of waste is created. From wrapping paper to leftover food, a lot ends up in the garbage over the holidays. Sarah Murray, E-Cycle Wisconsin Coordinator with the Wisconsin DNR, has some suggestions when getting plans together for your seasonal gathering.

Some easy adjustments that will help reduce waste include...
-Using reusable gift bags for presents instead of wrapping paper
-Cooking only what you and your guests are going to eat
-Recycling what you can, including e-cycling old lights and other electronics

What can and cannot be recycled varies depending on your location, but even if you are met with limitations, small adjustments to your celebration can make a difference. For more information on recycling in the state, visit the Wisconsin DNR website.

You can hear Green Visions at 8:20am every Wednesday on Northland Morning.
