Larry Weber has been teasing the coming of the fall since August began. Believe it or not, some signs of autumn are already all around us.

The folks at Hawk Ridge have officially started their migration count. Raptors and more will be heading south in larger numbers as the season progresses.

Chipmunks are busy stowing food away for the winter. The cute critters don't actually hibernate, so stores of food are necessary for periodic "midnight snacks".

Sunflowers, goldenrod and aster dominate the late-summer wild flower fields. The trio of native plants may be the most telling autumnal sign of all.
