Picking out a scary movie to watch as Halloween approaches can be a lot of fun. However, when you're curating an entire film series for the month of October there are multiple variables to consider.

Jody Kujawa is the Theaters Manager at Zeitgeist Arts and takes on the task of creating an annual Halloween series. This year, Kujawa has gone off the beaten path, steering away from some of the standards and diving deeper into the horror genre and all of its various subgenres.

This year's series includes classic titles like The Bride of Frankenstein and Creature from the Black Lagoon, spooky comedies like Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein and Hocus Pocus, as well as the very cult double feature of Halloween III: Season of the Witch and Toxic Avenger.

You can see the entire Halloween Film Series line-up on the Zeitgeist Arts website and keep up with the latest updates by following Zeitgeist Duluth on Facebook.

You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning. This edition of Community Connection is made possible in part by Lakewalk Surgery Center.
