After a summer of closed doors the Tweed Museum of Art is open – and in a big way. Eight exhibits are currently on display throughout the the autumn season.
Among the exhibits are MANA Bear Bolton’s mural project wherein patrons need only walk into the elevator to be transported.
Remembrance and Legacy of Neyaandagookwe, Karissa White Isaacs, PhD is a commemoration piece for a former curator of the museum. This exhibit is located in the balcony gallery.
In the main area, museum goers can find There’s a Woman of Every Color: Black Women in Art which explores the legacy of black women in the visual arts.
Sophie Stone's work on Ojibwe Basketry comes from the Tweed's permanent collection. “The technical expertise as well as creative artistry that is incorporated into these objects is really stunning,” says Annie Dugan.
These exhibits and more will be on display through December 18th.
