Recently, posters appeared around the Twin Ports promoting a white nationalist hate group. Last week, a community meeting was held by leaders from the Indigenous, African-heritage, and European-heritage communities with the purpose of creating dialogue about how our communities are impacted by this and to determine next steps that can be taken together. Another meeting is scheduled for this Thursday, May 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Men As Peacemakers Center (123 West Superior Street) in downtown Duluth.
KUMD has a conversation with Nathan Holst and Becky Nelson, members of SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice) Northland, who are participants in this effort to fight hate and promote intercultural dialogue and understanding.
