Karin Kraemer

“I stumbled into a pottery class.” That’s the briefest of ways to talk about Karin Kraemer’s pottery journey. In slightly greater length, Kraemer became interested in glass blowing, but facilities weren't always at the ready. “I moved out to West Virginia" says Kraemer. "The city I moved to didn't have anywhere for me to work that way." After that, pottery became a larger focus.

After relocating to Duluth in 1998, Kraemer worked at the Duluth Art Institute, opened a space in Superior, and eventually connected with local businesses from the blooming Lincoln Park Craft District. “I started making the cups for the Duluth Grill,” says Kraemer. "I started thinking about moving."

Duluth Pottery, Tile & Gallery just celebrated its five-year anniversary in Lincoln Park. “It's kind of a nice place to check out," says Kraemer. "Right in the heart of the Craft District.”
