Radio Gallery: Free Range Film Festival

Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

This weekend is the Free Range Film Festival held each year at the Food Farm's Wrenshall Barn.  Films will be shown Friday night starting at 7 p.m. and Saturday beginning at 2 p.m.

As always the festival is comprised of independent shorts and some not so short films by regional and national filmmakers. This year's schedule has 25 films ranging from 2  to 95 minutes.

One Minnesota documentary filmmaker Justin Christopher Ayd is showing his 20-minute production " Grandpa Ben" on Friday Night, a glimpse into the world of amateur artist Benjamin Vickery Jr., his grandfather-in-law who is still making art in his 90s.

We share our conversation with Director Justin Christopher Ayd for a glimpse inside the art of filmmaking, when your subject is family.
