Women's Words on June 28, 2015 features Holly Harden reading her essay "Fourth of July."

At age 9, in the back seat of her grandmother's car on the way to a funeral, Holly Harden began to write, and she's been writing ever since. She grew up in Wisconsin, majored in English at St. Olaf College, and taught secondary English for nine years. In 2002, she earned an MFA in Writing from Hamline University. Holly's nonfiction has appeared in Utne Reader and Fourth Genre, and she edited Garrison Keillor'sLife Among the Lutherans. Holly lives in Minnesota, where she writes for A Prairie Home Companion, teaches writing classes, and helps her three children get where they're going.

Her newest book, Recipes for Gatherings from Mrs. Sundberg's Kitchen, was published in May by Adventure Publications.  Another book, Good Food from Mrs.Sundberg'sKitchen, was published in the spring of 2014, also by Adventure Publications.
