Enjoy the cool temps. Larry Weber took a look back and recounted the 1936 heat wave that struck Duluth with temperatures as high as 106 degrees... by the lake.

Carlton, Minnesota had a visitor from Southern California - an acorn woodpecker. How did this non-native bird find its way to Northern Minnesota? The best guess is that the bird was caught in a big storm.

The butterflies, spiders, and frogs are hitting their stride. So are the bees, wasps and deerflies. For better or worse, keep your eyes and ears open out on the trails.
