What are Plys?  Skateboard decks; made from multiple thin plys of wood.  This week on Radio Gallery the show's organizer Taylor Kline of Prove Gallery explains the exciting and innovative annual art event Plys with Purpose.  Artists from Duluth and around the world participate each year to support local efforts to build a skate park for Duluth youth.  Over 30 different piece of original graphic and fine art will be up for grabs this Friday. All proceeds of this silent auction fundraiser benefits the Gary New Duluth Development Alliance to aid in their effort to build a public, state-of-the-art skateboard park in Gary New Duluth. You can buy a one of a kind skateboard deck and hang it on your wall or put trucks on it to ride. Plys with Purpose happens Friday November 18, 7-10pm with bands at the Red Herring to follow. Door proceeds at the Red Herring will also benefit the skate park.  Prove Gallery is located at 21 N Lake Avenue in Duluth.
