This week Radio Gallery spotlights the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA)and the 17th Annual Art-A-Whirl which is taking place in more than 50 locations throughout Northeast Minneapolis.

Radio Gallery 05-16-12 Art-A-Whirl

Art-A-Whirl is a free event that is open to the public. It takes place annually in Northeast Minneapolis on the third weekend of May. Hours for the event are: Friday, May 18th from 5:00-10:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19th from Noon-8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20th from Noon-5:00 p.m. During the event you are able to tour more than 50 locations such as studio buildings, art galleries, homes, storefronts, businesses, and restaurants all in Northeast Minneapolis.

Former Program Director, Maija Jenson teaches journalism in the Department of Communication at UMD and was a part of KUMD 2008-2019. She hosted a weekly arts program "Radio Gallery." She shares a lifetime of public radio listening, degrees in journalism and art and 20 years of public radio experience with KFAI, WHA, WSUM and KUMD.
