It's been a long stretch of heat in the Northland to close out the summer season. This last week before the autumnal equinox has seen several days with temperature readings in the eighties.

But no matter how much summer tries to hold on, the signs of Fall are all around. Larry Weber has been keeping an eye on migration, the dissipating late-summer plants, and the chipmunks that have been busy creating their food stores for the upcoming winter.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.
