The holiday season might be behind us, but for gardeners there are days of flipping through catalogs and circling desires still ahead.
For Tom Kasper, this is a chance to think about the past season's garden while also looking ahead to the coming spring. "There's just something so enjoyable about sitting with something warm to drink on a cold day... and looking at what you're going to put in your garden," says Kasper of gardening catalogs, many of which start showing up this time of year.
A few things on Kasper's wish list include brown peppers, vibrantly colored carrots, and seeds in pellet form. The seeds come in a celluloid pod which makes it easier to evenly distribute. This method also means less thinning when the vegetation starts to come in, and ultimately fewer wasted seeds.
