Backyard Almanac: A New Season

Summer made one final push this week with hotter than average temperatures, but the season is changing, and Autumn arrives this weekend.

As expected, bird migration continues, the leaves are beginning to change color, and even the spider webs are not as prominent as they had been in previous weeks.

Though the tranquil nature of Autumn is rolling in, be prepared for a bit of noise. The acorns will be falling from the trees and colliding with whatever is below. Sometimes the acorns just drop, and sometimes they have a little help from squirrels.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
