According to 2010 data from the FDA, 133 billion pounds of food is wasted every year in the U.S. The impact of the high social, environmental, and climate costs associated with this level of waste is mind-boggling. MN350’s Volunteer Food Waste Team Leader Cassie Hagen joins us this morning to talk about the problems, and the practices that the food service industry and individuals can employ locally and nationally to reduce the food waste problem in our country.
