Green Visions: Improving Our View of the Night Sky

Cindy Hakala, the President of Starry Skies Lake Superior, talks about ways that we can reduce light pollution in our nighttime sky.  By using lights that emit warmer colors and limit their focus downward, we can support better astronomical vistas in the Northland, and also a better circadian environment for plants, animals and people in the region.

Night Sky Week is coming up (Sunday, September 16 to Saturday September 22), featuring many events across the region throughout the week for the public to atend and enjoy.

Chris Harwood is The North 1033’s Production Director and (acting) Program Director, a morning/daytime host, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
