Community Connection: "The Revisionist" on the Depot Stage

"It's just a really good story," says John Pokrzywinski, one of the actors involved in That Old Hillside's production of The Revisionist opening on August 21st at the Depot stage in Duluth.

The play is based on the real-life experience of playwright Jesse Eisenberg (widely known for his acting roles in films such as The Social Network and Zombieland) who went to Poland to revise his novel while staying with a distant relative. In the play, the two characters have very different agendas for the visit.

The list of those involved in the production is a tidy one. Director Mark Armstrong cast Noah Benjamin, Annabel Armour and John Pokrzywinski in the three-character show. Each member of this production of The Revisionist has traveled in their own way to Duluth for this show. Armour (a fifty-year veteran of stage and film) hails from Chicago, Armstrong and Benjamin are both on hiatus from their lives in New York City, and Pokrzywinski is recently returned from two years of teaching in Tunisia.

The Revisionist opens on Wednesday, August 21st at 7pm at the Depot in Duluth. For opening night tickets, or tickets to additional performances on August 22nd, 23rd and 24th, visit That Old Hillside's website.
