MN Reads: "Traveling in Wonder" by Autumn Carolynn

Autumn Carolynn was bitten by the bug of exploration long ago. "I grew up in the Chicago suburbs... my friends and I would take the train into Chicago, and we would ask the train conductor to surprise us." This brought Carolynn and her friends to random towns in the Chicago area. In the years since, that range of travel has expanded to a global scale.

In the new book Traveling in Wonder, Carolynn reflects on her travels as a student, a flight attendant, a travel agent, and ultimately as a travel photographer. "It's a book that really shows and tells what it's like to go through with those four different travel experiences and careers," says Carolynn. "Not only is it journal entries, but at the end of each chapter there are a series of different photographs that I've taken in the different countries."

Where is Autumn Carolynn off too next? "Believe it or not, I have never been to the Boundary Waters," says Carolynn with a laugh. "I'm a bad Minnesotan." She has a five-day trip planned for the near future to the BWCAW.

Traveling in Wonder is available on the author's website, through various online retailers, and at The Bookstore at Fitger's in Duluth.
