Author Linda LeGarde Grover heads back to fictional Mozhay Point in A Song Over Miskwaa Rapids, her latest book published by the University of Minnesota Press.

The book follows Margie Robineau and the happenings at Mozhay Point that have deep ties to occurrences from decades earlier. "There are events in our past that are always with us, as there are events that are going on right now that will always be with us," says the author. "Sometimes these things catch up with us in unexpected ways, in unexpected times." A Song Over Miskwaa Rapids connects the present with actions from the past, paints a picture of the ties between the community and the land, and also those between the living and the dead.

Linda LeGarde Grover will be at the Zeitgeist Teatro at 7pm this evening for a book launch. Area author Staci Lola Drouillard will also be in attendance. "She's going to converse with me about A Song Over Miskwaa Rapids," says LeGarde Grover. "We'll touch on her books, too." The works of both authors will be available for purchase at the event. A Song Over Miskwaa Rapids is additionally available at local bookstores and online at the University of Minnesota Press website.
