Community Connection: The Return of "Take It With You"

Tonight marks the return of Take It With You to the stage. The live radio show featuring whacky storylines, original songs, and special guests has produced roughly 50 shows since 2014.

After writing and producing a musical in the Twin Cities, Mary Fox and Blake Thomas were encouraged to make Duluth home for their new radio show venture. "We decided let's move up to Duluth and give it a year," says Fox. The goal for their initial show was to sell 20 tickets. The first show sold out and the stage was set for the subsequent years.

Take It With You is a constant whirlwind for those involved. Rehearsals happen during the days leading up to the show. The performers have their scripts in front of them, the music is live, and all the sound effects are made by foley artists. "There's that playfulness with everything," says Thomas. "It was an exciting thing, and it still is an exciting thing."

Word has it that tickets for tonight's show are presently hard to find, but the third Tuesday of the next three months will bring other opportunities to catch the show live. More information can be found at the Take It With Youwebsite.
