There are a few visual arts events around town that are related to this week's Homegrown Music Festival.

  • The Homegrown Photo Show opening reception is happening this Tuesday (5/3) at the Zeitgeist Arts Atrium at 5:00 p.m., featuring music by Goat Hill Quartet.
  • The Homegrown Music Video Festival is also happening Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m., at Zeitgeist Zinema, just downstairs from the Zeitgeist Arts Atrium.
  • Robot Rickshaw's performance at 7:30 on Tuesday night at Vikre Distillery promises to be quite interesting visually as well as musically, with "a human-driven cart full of musical robots designed for all-terrain performance scenarios ranging from guerrilla drive-by rapid-fire black-MIDI-burst-spewing dadaist street interventions to extended duration post-human dronecore therapy sessions."

Also, the first of three weekly classes with artists Susanna Gaunt, "Spring Renewal: Collage with Susanna Gaunt" happens this Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the DAI's Lincoln Park Building.
