3/29 Women's Words: Amy Waugh

Women's Words on March 29, 2015 featured Amy Waugh of Duluth reading an excerpt from her book Remnants of the Disappeared, titled "Somewhere in Colorado."

Amy Waugh resides with her orange tabby, Gideon, by the Great Lake Superior, whose shores serve as muse.  A poet since age 12, she studied monkeys and forensic anthropology before finally succumbing to her destiny as a writer.  A graduate of the unique MFA program in Creative Writing and Environment at Iowa State University, she currently teaches writing to science students at the University of Minnesota Duluth.  Her poems have appeared in numerous journals, and she often gives readings at local art galleries.  Remnants of the Disappeared is her first full-length publication, from Red Orchid Publishing.

Chris Harwood is The North 1033’s Production Director and (acting) Program Director, a morning/daytime host, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
