Women's Words: September 23, 2012: Linda LeGarde Grover

Women's Words on Sunday, September 23 featured Dr. Linda LeGarde Grover, reading an excerpt of her manuscript The Road Back to Sweetgrass, a work that received the 2008 Native Writers Circle of the Americas First Book Award.

Dr. Grover is an associate professor of American Indian studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth and a member of the Bois Forte Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe in northern Minnesota. She is the author of a poetry collection titled The.Indian.At.Indian.School and the co-author of A Childhood in Minnesota: Exploring the Lives of Ojibwe and Immigrant Families, 1880-1920. She received the 2011 Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize for her short story collection The Dance Boots. It also received the 2009 Flannery O'Connor Award and is published by the University of Georgia Press.
